My Heroes

Everyone is always asking me, Who is my hero? Well in my case, the question isn't who is my hero, it;s who are my heroes. Robert and Eloise McCoy are, and forever will be my heroes. The taught my right from wrong, and were always there for me when i needed them. No matter how much trouble i was in. And though they are gone now, i know that if i truley need them, they will find a way to help me. I remember when i was a little girl, and I was in Mississippi with my grandparents. and my Pawpaw said, "Hey Sweet Pea lets go for a walk around the backyard.". My randparents' backyard was huge it had woods and flowers and ponds, and trees. I loved Their backyard. It was my favorite place in the world. So me and my Pawpaw went for a walk. We walked into the field and he told me to look around. "Look up at the sky.", he said. So i did. I looked around at everything and saw flowers of all colors, and birds of all sorts, everywhere. My Pawpaw looked at me and said, "One day, when im gone, this will all be yours." Well me being only 5 years old didnt really appreciate what he said. I said, "Pawpaw you'll never be gone." He just looked down at me and smiled, and we continued our walk.

Now I know that that story isn't much. I'm suprised I have remembered it so long, but it was one of those key moments in my life. Because I later went on to find out that in my Pawpaws will, it said that my father was to inheriet all of his land. Before my grandparents died, however, they had to sell the house, for unkown reasons to me, and the new owners were from Louisiana. When the new owners saw all the trees and woods, they thought that the first storm that hit, all the trees were gonna fall on their house, and they ruined my little piece of heaven on earth. One of theese days, when im older and more mature, im gonna give those people a piece of my mind.

My Mimi was always the kind of woman who cooks at home, and does the laundry, and tends the gardens. She did work, however. My Mimi owned a little store called, Classy Fashions by Eloise. I used to go in that little store all the time. She had clothes of all sorts, and a photoshoot area. Everyone loved it at Eloise's. Especially me. My Mimi was a strong, outspoken person. I love her so much.

My grandparents' love for each other was unreal. I like to think it still is just as stong now that they are gone. Maybe even stronger. My Pawpaw never left my Mimi's side. He never left a room without kissing her, and he always warmed up the car before he got my Mimi to come out, and get in. Their love was so strong, that even death couldn't pull the apart. My Pawpaw died on a friday, and my Mimi died the next Monday. The day my Pawpaw was put in the ground. He died of old age, and lung cancer. She died of old age and Demensia. They were buried side by side, and I like to think that in heaven, they are holding hands looking down on me.

I want to make them proud of me no matter what. That's why I'm writing this essay. Their story needs to be heard around the world. And I'm determined to make that happen.

I love you Mimi and Pawpaw. You are my heroes for life.
